Frequent Asked Questions for Online/Onsite Spring Class |
Q: What's the format of the online lectures? How can I access them?
A: You may Click Here to watch the demo of our online lectures. You will receive a letter in mail and email for the instructions to access the formal lectures before the online session begins. Of course, you will need a computer with high speed internet.
Q:My friend says I will miss the magic of going to the Chi Institute if I take the Online/Onsite Spring Class. Is this true?
A: No, you will still come to Florida for 3 sessions, and the magic will still be there. And you will hear the same dynamics of the class questions and comments, as if you were physically in the class.
Here is what one of our students recently said about doing the online herbal class:
Barbara, I already took all of the herbal classes and passed. I just audited this one as a review. I have to say, the online class was great! It was just like being there, except that I could not raise my hand to ask a question during class! I'm not a computer person, but it was really easy to do. What a great idea.
- Susan Colbassanni, DVM, CVA, CVH
Q: But what if I still have my own questions that have not been answered?
A: You will have your own tutor via email and your own chat group to help you get answers to your questions.
Q: So I do not lose any in person on experience by attending these two sessions in a virtual classroom?
A: No, because the hands-on experiential portion of the course remains the same as the original format, and will be provided in the other three sessions in Florida.
Q: I heard that Chi students get discounts on supplies and products each time they attend a session. Will this be the same for the Spring online format?
A: Discounts that would apply to the onsite class will apply to all 5 of these sessions as well.
Q: I have a friend and a colleague to whom I recommended the Chi Institute for the basic program, but now since there is a new online format, I am worried that they will not get as much out of the 5 session course. I want them to have the same wonderful learning experience I did.
A: You do not have to worry. As always, we are fair and responsive to our students needs, and have made every effort to present our online classes to reflect the same, high standards in our academic presentations, products and personalized care of our students.
Q: Do I have to pay all the tuition when I register?
A: No, the registration fee of $100 saves your seat in all 4 sessions of the basic program. Tuition is due 30 days before each individual session. For Spring class starting with an online session, you only have to pay $625 thereby being able to take longer to pay off the full amount.
Q: How much does the whole course cost?
A: Tuition for 2010 is $4850, and required course books are under $300, including shipping.
Q: So what do you see as the advantages and disadvantages of the Online/Onsite Spring Class.
A: You will have more time to absorb and review the TCVM theory and case studies. You will have less time away from your practice, and travel expenses. You will pay less money up front, and you will be able to view and review the work and have the option of getting a deeper grasp of the concepts by participating in the chat group.
Q: When will my name appear on your website referral list?
A: After you have complete one Florida session.
Q: What are the disadvantages of attending the Online/Onsite Spring Class?
A: The only possible drawback could be if you are an extremely busy person who has a hard time taking time for yourself, or if you are not at all motivated to study, you may find it difficult to discipline yourself and take time away from your to do list and social agenda to lay the foundation for yourself to come to Session 2. If this is a major problem for you, it would be better if you chose our late summer original 4 session format, starting in August 2010 and graduating in December. |

Student Feedbacks:
Thanks a lot. The course is very well laid out and presented so that everything falls into place as each session is completed. I really enjoyed Dr. Clemmons “Centering Yourself” lecture/meditation and thought provoking philosophy on life and healing.
Jennifer Hew, DVM - Small Animal Session Class 11 Session 3, Oct 16-19, 2008.
I feel privileged to be a student at Chi Institute. Very lucky that I discovered this school and am able to attend. I believe this is an excellent acupuncture education.
Julie DeMarco, DVM - Small Animal Session Class 11 Session 2, Sep 8-11, 2008.
“Even though this is only the first session, this class has surpassed my expectations in every way imaginable. The overall organization is impeccable, all of the speakers have been informative and inspiring, and even the snacks and lunches are fantastic. Just feeling the positive energy every time the class gets together is worth the price of admission, and I know it will only grow as we all get to know each other better. Dr. Xie is an amazing teacher – his enthusiasm is infectious and I can’t think of anyone I would rather have as a mentor. He manages to make potentially difficult concepts very understandable for us “western” thinkers. I feel extremely privileged to be a part of this class, and can’t wait to come back next month!
Seychelle Ricard, DVM - Small Animal Session Class 11 Session 1, July 31-Aug 3, 2008.
“I am very impressed with the Chi Institute and its instructors, it has been a very pleasant learning atmosphere and I am happy with my learning curve. It is such a welcome to be surrounded by such talent and enthusiasm. I cannot imagine studying veterinary acupuncture elsewhere.”
Andrea Lanphear, DVM - Small Animal Class 10 Session 2, March 29-April 1, 2007.
“The new Chi facility is wonderful. It made the entire experience of learning much more complete…To be able to see green and fresh air during the breaks was refreshing and energizing.”
Faye Dee Harris-King, DVM - Small Animal Class 10 Session 2, March 29-April 1, 2007.
“Chi treats us like family”
Christopher Serpico, DVM - Small Animal Class 10 Session 2, March 29-April 1, 2007.
"Dr. Xie,I just wanted to Thank You for bringing your wisdom, energy, spirit, patience, and knowledge to the United States to share with them with us. Because you have shared the 'secrets' of the wonderful Chinese culture, I am able to help animals in ways I never could before. I know this is a forum for sharing cases and healing, but I feel particularly honored this morning to learn from you (and all the teachers at Chi) and feel blessed that you have chosen the path to teach us. I know we are all better veterinarians because we have studied under you and that we have healed many more pets than we would of because we have met you. Thanks for being YOU and for bringing your family to Florida!"
Denette Cooke, DVM – Small Animal Class 9 Session 4, Aug 10-14, 2006.
